Success Stories

Praman's success story with Quantel continues.

Recently in September 2007 Pixion have ordered their fourth Quantel machine to add to their Quantel arsenal - a Pablo HD. Pixion have also upgraded their existing Pablo to 4K and have added another 4 hours of storage to cater to the ever-increasing demand.

In October 2006, Futureworks (Gaurav Digital) have taken delivery of a Pablo, a full-blown 4K machine with 8 hours of 2K storage. With the Pablo, Futureworks have made a name for themselves for high quality DI work.

Pixion, one of the top facility houses in India (and now perhaps in the world), now use two eQ Fx machines and a Pablo for film DI work. All three machines have been working to peak capacity contributing to the continuing Pixion success story.

Quantel's latest technology continues to expand into the Indian market with one eQ ordered by Tarusha Media followed by a second. Famous Studios also bought their first eQ. Both Tarusha and Famous were existing Editbox users.

Star News chooses generationQ for news: Innovative 24 hour news channel based on Quantel server and editing technology
Newbury, UK, 31 October 2002: Star News, India has ordered two Quantel generationQ news systems to sit at the heart of the new 24 hour national news channel the broadcaster is launching in 2003. Central production will be based in Mumbai. This system is centred on an 8 port sQServer with 200 hours of 25Mbit MPEG storage. Five connected QEdit Pro workstations will be used in the newsroom for advanced journalist craft editing. The Mumbai sQServer will also be configured with 200 hours of integrated browse storage locked to the full resolution material under Quantel's ISA (Integrated Server Automation) database. This will support 15 QView desktop browse applications and 15 QCut desktop editing applications for journalists. When completed on the desktop, edits can be instantly conformed on the broadcast quality video held in the sQServer, ready for immediate output to air. A regional production system will be installed in Delhi, centred on a 4 port sQServer with 100 hours of 25Mbit MPEG storage, with one QEdit Pro craft editing workstation and 6 QCut journalist editors connected. Mr. Vynsley Fernandes, Operations Director of Star News, said, "The present news environment in India warrants a fully automated news server production system that seamlessly combines text & video on journalists' desktops."
